The AAML hotel block is sold out at the JW Marriott Guanacaste. There is very limited availability remaining in the hotel. You can reach out directly at reservations.sjojw@r-hr.com or 506.2681.2000 to book your stay. Should you need nearby accommodations, Hacienda Pinilla Luxury Rentals are located within close proximity of the property and the W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal is around 11 miles away from the JW Marriott.
Upgrades
To upgrade your hotel room, ask for specific room types and/or special requests, please connect with the hotel at reservations.sjojw@R-HR.COM.
Note: Upgrades and special requests will be based on availability and at the individual's expense.
Resort Fee
The resort fee is not required for attendees, however, you may choose to add the $30 daily fee at the time of check-in.
The resort fee includes:
- Enhanced Wi-Fi access
- Daily two-hour bicycle rental for two guests
- Daily Upgraded Pool & Beach Toys for Children for two guests
- Daily Movie Night
- Daily Cooking or Mixology Class with Instructor for two guests
- Daily Sunset cocktail or Bonfire with live music and marshmallows for two guests
- Daily Wellness Class (a choice of Yoga, stretching or aquarobics) for two guests.
Hotel Cancellation Policy
The cancellation of guaranteed reservations must be received 30 days prior to arrival. The hotel does not grant any refund in the case of late cancellation. If reservation is cancelled, the card on file will be charged for the full anticipated stay
Travel Information
We recommend booking flight for the Midyear Meeting to LIR - Liberia Airport.
Attendees book airport transportation through our local partners here. Enjoy the scenic ride with a bilingual driver, a certified tour guide and on-board wi-fi. This is an $100 flat fee per person each way. The deadline to book with our local partners is Friday, Feb. 14.
Fast Track
Fast Track reduces wait times through Immigration, Security, and Customs, but transportation is shared with passengers on the same flight attending the AAML Midyear Conference, so you may need to wait for others. If you prefer private transportation, you can contact estefania@tedmc.cr or fernanda@tedmc.cr to arrange.

Private Transportation
For attendees who do not want to wait for other AAML attendees to depart the airport, or just prefer private services.
1 Attendee: $400 total
2 Attendees: $200 per person
3 Attendees: $133.33 per person
4 Attendees: $100 per person
Shuttle service from JW Guanacaste to town of Tamarindo
For shared shuttle service to and from Tamarindo, attendees can book here and will cost $30 round trip per person. Please note this is a shared service with other hotel guests and tourists. The schedule for departure and return times can be found on their website.
For private shuttle service to Tamarindo, attendees must email info@gocrvision.com directly. Private shuttle prices are as follows:
- For 1-4 passengers: $60.50, one way.
- For 5 passengers: $78.65 , one way.
- For 6 passengers: $96.80, one way.
- For 7 passengers: $114.95, one way.
- For 8 passengers: $133.10, one way.
- For 9 passengers: $151.25, one way.
Note: Shuttle drops off at La Palapa Restaurant in Tamarindo.
Yellow Fever Vaccination
The government of Costa Rica requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travelers arriving from the following countries with risk of yellow fever:
- SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leona and Sudan.
- SOUTH AMERICA Bolivia, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.
- THE CARIBBEAN French Guiana.
